    Mahalia earned her Master’s degree from Alliant International University and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Psychology program for Couples and Family Therapy.  

    Her experience includes working in community mental health, academic settings, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient care. Mahalia readily works with individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting, addiction, and chronic pain. She has a wide range of expertise addressing the impacts of trauma and understanding complex family dynamics. She has worked as a Clinical Director at a substance use facility and understands the unique needs of individuals struggling with addiction. As a graduate assistant, she taught practicum students in courses on family systems theory and clinical case conceptualization. Her advanced areas of study include emotional transformation therapy (ETT), attachment theory/practice, substance use disorders, intercultural couples, and mindfulness self-compassion.

    Mahalia has a warm and calming yet down to earth presence and joined the ARC team because she is committed to providing high quality, safe, equitable, and inclusive treatment for all. 

    Outside of her professional life, Mahalia enjoys spending time with family and friends, kickboxing, listening to 90s music, and being outdoors.
