Dr. Hartel’s primary interests are couples therapy and trauma-focused psychotherapy. Along with psychotherapy, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has been well-trained in psychological assessment and is passionate about utilizing tests to understand the whole person and the various factors that may be impacting one’s functioning. She aims to empower clients to overcome their trauma and other difficulties while uncovering underlying psychological processes in order to heal and grow.
Dr. Hartel cares deeply about being an active, safe ally and serving diverse communities. She continuously works to better understand the difficulties that are experienced by clients of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and other underserved communities. Her primary goal is to always be open to learning how she can become the most effective clinician for those that she has the honor of supporting through difficult experiences. She is excited to be a member of the
incredible ARC Counseling and Wellness team as it allows her to learn and grow continuously while giving her the space to be fully present for the clients that step into her office.
Outside of supporting her clients, she enjoys spending her downtime with a good book, music, and sunshine.
