His training experience includes working in community mental health at the Azusa Community Counseling Center, where he provided diagnostic assessments and treatment interventions for a variety of mental health conditions. Shay worked with children, adolescents, and their families, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, PTSD, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.

There, he helped clients with PTSD, social anxiety, depression, suicide and self-harm, interpersonal problems, family conflict, romantic difficulties, eating disorders, and addiction. Furthermore, he attended seminars and training sessions that enhanced his clinical expertise, including trauma, eating disorder, and cultural competence training.
Shay strives to make each of his clients feel comfortable through his genuine interpersonal style and calm, steady demeanor. He believes in the importance of meeting clients where they are and fostering a collaborative relationship. Together, he and his clients work patiently and deliberately to achieve their identified goals.
In his free time, Shay is passionate about physical fitness, hiking, roller skating, and listening to R&B music. He values both his work and personal life, advocating for a healthy work-life balance and enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
